Declan Rice unhappy at being priced out of move; refuses to sign a new deal

Chelsea’s previous interest in West Ham’s England international midfielder Declan Rice could take another interesting turn this summer.

Rice has been vocal in his displeasure with West Ham’s stance of valuing him at £100million if he was to move on from the London Stadium this summer; a stance that has – at the moment – priced him out of a move to a bigger club.

It is unlikely the Hammers will reverse on their position and desire to keep Rice on the books, but unless the club magically achieves Champions League football next season, Rice is prepared to run his contract down and leave on a free in order to secure the opportunity to compete at the highest level. Chelsea will undoubtedly keep tabs on the England man in case the Hammers have a last-minute change of heart, or to maneuver a free transfer next summer.

Chelsea weigh-up a bid for Monaco’s Aurélien Tchouaméni

The standard Chelsea summer looks set to continue at Stamford Bridge as the window roars closer to its conclusion, with the Blues looking to loan out David Zappacosta, Malang Sarr, Ross Barkley, Ike Ugbo, Abdul Baba Rahman, Lewis Baker, and Ethan Ampadu before the transfer deadline.

Once space has cleared, Chelsea is hoping to bring in another midfielder and have targeted AS Monaco’s highly-rated French U21 international Aurélien Tchouaméni.

The Rouen-native was one of Europe’s brightest young midfielders last season for Monaco after joining from Girondins de Bordeaux the previous summer, immediately becoming indispensable at the Stade Louis II while making 45-appearances across all competitions. The 21-year-old would set Chelsea back £30million, who would be open to letting the Frenchman remain at the club for the current season to guarantee he continues his progression while they look to clear the rest of the fat from the squad.

AC Milan push for Tiemoué Bakayoko; hopeful of securing summer deal

Italian outlet Calciomercato has claimed that AC Milan is keen to make a move for Chelsea’s French midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko this summer, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that a loan agreement between the two clubs is nearing completion.

As one of many Blues playing personnel that the club is looking to get off the books this summer either permanently or sending out on loan, Bakayoko returned to Stamford Bridge after his third successive loan period away from west London with stints at Milan, AS Monaco, and SS Napoli.

With his future undoubtedly lying away from Chelsea, the club is hopeful of adding a buy option before a deal is concluded which would at least guarantee financial restitution for a move that never quite panned out.
