Everton continues to reshape and retool their first-team squad under new boss Rafa BenÃtez this summer, with confirmation having arrived that Brazilian winger Bernard has been sold to UAE outfit Sharjah FC.

Bernard, once highly-touted during a successful period with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk, never got going during his time at Goodison Park after arriving at the club on a free transfer back in 2018.
All told, the Atlético Mineiro youth product only scored 8-goals and registered a further 7-assists across a combined 84-appearances for Everton in three seasons. With BenÃtez in and keen to restructure the team in line with his image, it was always expected that Bernard would rapidly head for the exit door. The Brazilian was close to completing a move away from the club in January, to another UAE club in Al-Nasr, but negotiations collapsed before anything could be finalized.
Bernard will now link up with his new teammates in a competition that has formerly featured the likes of Asamoah Gyan, Marcus Berg, and Mirko VuÄiniÄ.
BREAKING: Demarai Gray has sealed a move to Everton from Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee after agreeing a three-year contract until the end of June 2024 with the option for a fourth year.
— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) July 22, 2021
Everton has already begun to bring in wide players at their new boss’ request this summer, with the club sealing deals for both Andros Townsend on a free transfer, and Demarai Gray for just 2-million Euro in the past 48-hours.
With England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Brazilian spark-plug Richarlison remaining as the main goalscorers at the club, BenÃtez has done well to target the wide areas as a focal point for necessary upgrades this summer. The Toffees have sought out value that comes with the requisite end product to keep the supply lines open to the forward pair.
Townsend’s experience in the Premier League and ability on his day should prove a valuable asset to BenÃtez, with Gray still aiming to hit the heights so many expected him to reach during his breakthrough years at Birmingham City, which eventually earned him a move to Leicester City in 2016.
Everton remains interested in further deals in the market, particularly for Napoli center-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
