Kendall Jenner spent part of her Memorial Day working out—and paparazzi captured her en route to lunch post-sweat. Jenner wore classic gym attire: a white sports bra, black leggings, white sneakers, a tan mask (it is still a pandemic, after all), and sunglasses. Also visible were the results of Jenner’s hard work: her very pronounced abs.
Jenner hasn’t given many in-depth interviews over the last year. But she made headlines in May when she spoke to Vogue about her longtime struggle with anxiety in the magazine’s Open Minded series. The 25-year-old model recalled first experiencing it in her childhood: “I remember being really young—I’d say 8, 9, 10—and having shortness of breath and going to my mom and telling her that.”
She added that her supermodel career in adulthood made her anxiety unbearable at times: “I think being overworked and being in the situation that I’m in now is kind of what set it out of control in a way,” she admitted. “I’ve had times where I feel like I need to be rushed to the hospital because I think my heart’s failing, and I can’t breathe, and I need someone to help me. Sometimes I think I’m dying.”
In a later episode of the series, Jenner opened up about her anxiety with public speaking and how it has crippled her in the past. “I really, really don’t like public speaking; it makes me nervous and uncomfortable,” she said. “But then there’s moments in my life as a public figure that I do have to kind of be in that position. If I have something coming up that’s bringing me out of my comfort zone…it can consume me to the point where I’m not focusing on what is happening to me that day or in that moment. I’m just worried about what is going to happen in the future.”
