The Los Angeles Lakers bolstered its frontcourt by the addition of Andre Drummond. There are three centers on the roster right now — Drummond, Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol. According to the team’s head coach Frank Vogel, all three of them are needed.
However, there is some speculation among rival executives that the Lakers could part ways with Gasol. The 36-year-old veteran, who won a championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, is averaging 4.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2 assists in 19.8 minutes per game.
Per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report:
“As much as Marc Gasol’s subpar contributions helped lead Los Angeles to pursue Drummond, Gasol remains under contract. There remains some speculation from rival executives that he could now come to a buyout agreement with the Lakers.”
