France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.04% By Investing.com

Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the declined 0.04%, while the index added 0.06%.

The best performers of the session on the were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:), which rose 4.29% or 0.93 points to trade at 22.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:) added 3.04% or 0.40 points to end at 13.56 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:) was up 2.89% or 3.10 points to 110.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (PA:), which fell 1.77% or 5.40 points to trade at 299.70 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:) declined 1.62% or 2.70 points to end at 163.70 and Kering SA (PA:) was down 1.49% or 8.70 points to 574.40.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:) which rose 8.10% to 10.33, Faurecia (PA:) which was up 6.67% to settle at 40.95 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) which gained 4.29% to close at 22.63.

The worst performers were Eramet SA (PA:) which was down 7.83% to 42.85 in late trade, Verallia (PA:) which lost 2.61% to settle at 27.95 and Edenred SA (PA:) which was down 2.61% to 46.26 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 309 to 269 and 83 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.52% or 9.60 to $1841.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.53% or 0.80 to hit $53.05 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.60% or 0.89 to trade at $56.55 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2157, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.8928.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 90.388.
