Whether you’re a fan or not of the British royals, there’s no denying that they know how to dress – after all, there’s a reason the “Kate Effect” and “Meghan Effect” are legitimately studied for their impact on retail sales globally. Today, Kate Middleton displayed her style prowess on an official outing to the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity as part of her role as Patron of the Natural History Museum.

For the occasion, Kate rocked an expertly blended palette of autumnal hues: a deep mulberry top by high street brand Warehouse and army green trousers by Jigsaw. The entire look was capped off with tonal accessories by way of Tod’s pumps and a classic top-handle Chanel handbag from the brand’s A/W15 collection.

The outing comes ahead of her upcoming royal tour of Pakistan, which kicks off next Monday. An official statement released by Kensington Palace on Friday said, “Whilst the Duke and Duchess’s programme will pay respect to the historical relationship between Britain and Pakistan, it will largely focus on showcasing Pakistan as it is today – a dynamic, aspirational and forward-looking nation. From the modern leafy capital Islamabad, to the vibrant city of Lahore, the mountainous countryside in the North, and the rugged border regions to the West, the visit will span over 1000km, and will take in Pakistan’s rich culture. its diverse communities and its beautiful landscapes.”

None of the official engagements have yet been announced for security reasons, and the couple’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will not travel with them. Kensington Palace called the tour “the most complex” the pair has taken to date “given the logistical and security considerations.” The trip will mark the first time either have visited the country.

Off the back of sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s recent royal tour of South Africa, it will be interesting to see how Kate infuses her wardrobe with pieces from local designers on the trip.
